Martian Sunset
Curiosity, one of NASA's adorable little Mars Rovers, got a picture of the Martian sunset. It's bluish and beautiful and perfect.
Monday Music & Strength for Suffering
Well, it's Monday again. I wonder if I should have done more schoolwork this weekend, but the tests were so tiring that I ended up doing a little bit more writing and bedroom-dancing than originally planned. Then again, though, if I hadn't, I wouldn't have found some of these songs, right? So maybe it was worth it.
In the non-music world, I'm sending prayers for everyone out there today. Tornadoes have killed two and injured twenty in the central U.S., the victims of the Nepal earthquake are still struggling through the rubble....so many difficult things are going on right now, and I'm thinking of everybody.

Black & White Photo Inspiration
Happy Mother's Day! I'm with my mum today and thinking a lot about both her and my grandmother, who passed on a few years ago but is still with us. We saw some vintage (and vintage-inspired) fashion photography pictures, and I couldn't help but to share them because it's like going back in time....

1970s Summer Inspiration
The weather has warmed up, and the seventies (and late sixties) are back. Short skirts. Bohemian touches. Floppy hats.
And my AP Spanish test....

ER, Stitches & Music
Last night, just as I was about to start another round of AP studying, I somehow managed to walk into a piece of picture frame glass and almost slice my toe off. Two hours later, I was leaving the ER with two (I know, anti-climatic!) stitches and a funny shoe that looks like what would happen if a Converse sneaker and a cast had a baby. This, friends, is what happens when trying to get a good grade in AP Chemistry.
Of course, I took the test yesterday morning. It was nervewracking, yeah, but it didn't feel so dramatic compared to the whole ER adventure. I'm glad it's over, but I'm sad because the whole suture thing means I can't run (I love running). The doctor said I should be able to use the elliptical machine come Wednesday (yay...fingers crossed), and I know that I shouldn't let myself be so sad about missing running, but it's a major stress reliever for me. Maybe it's good that I'm taking a break and trying other things, though. My shin splints will probably thank me later, and flexibility is important. The Bellatrix voice in my head never wants to be flexible, but she's going to have to be. Flexibility is key for maintaining happy health.
It's Cinco de Mayo (perfect, seeing as my Spanish AP is on jueves), yesterday was Star Wars Day (#geekout!), and I'm hoping that everyone out there is feeling positive vibes. Make a point of it to appreciate the things around you every day, and don't let yourself get caught up in the voicesi n your head. They're loud, sure, but awesomeness is a whole lot louder.
Also...beware picture frame glass! It can be much sharper than it appears. If I'd stepped into it with any more force, I would probably be down one toe right now.

May (the Force Be With You)
It's officially May! I know I say this every month, but I really cannot believe that 2015 is going by so quickly. It's only about two months from being halfway over. Time just keeps going.
What feels like it'll never be over, though, is next week and all its glorious exams. I keep reminding myself how lucky I am--I'm at a nice school and I have access to exams while so many other people are unable to get an education--but I'm still very stressed. As I type, my AP Chemistry prep book sits open in front of me, confusing questions about conjugate acid-base pairs and thermodynamic properties staring up at me from page 544. And I left my headphones at home today, so instead of music, the background sounds are the gossipy giggles of teenagers. #alliteration
As suggested in the title of this post, I AM SENDING THE FORCE to everyone out there who needs it. That's right, even the people who have no idea that the force is being sent to them are receiving it at this very moment. From this girl. At this desk. With this chemistry book.
I'm also sending music!
